Hana Sychrová (Czech Republic), PhD., DSc. (equiv. Research Professor) graduated in biochemistry in 1983. Since 1988, she has been working in the Dept. Membrane Transport of the Inst of Physiology Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS), and has been leading this department since 2006. In the 1990s, she spent four years at the IBMC CNRS and at the Univ. Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg. Since 1985, H. Sychrová has been actively involved in the study of the structure, activity and physiological role of cell transport systems. She is the author of more than 130 original scientific publications. She has been the principal investigator or co-investigator of more than 20 projects, including 7 EU projects. H. Sychrová is also a member of the scientific councils and supervisory boards of several CAS research institutes, and since 2013, she has been elected member of the Academy Council and President of the CAS Council for International Affairs. She has been acting as an expert and panel vice-chair in evaluation of MSC proposals in FP6, FP7 and H2020.
