EASAC's correspondence with the President of the European Commission on the role of biomass energy
EASAC's aim is to inform policy within the EU and to ensure this is based on the most recent science. Sometimes our message has direct implications for policy when it is being actively debated and one recent example was the debate on the role of biomass energy in the revision to the Renewable Energy Directive during 2018. In such cases, EASAC may bring the conclusions of its work directly to the responsible authorities. For example, we wrote directly to the President of the European Commission and received the attached reply.
