Martin Patel

Martin Patel (Switzerland) is professor at University of Geneva, where he has been holding the Chair for Energy Efficiency since 2013. He is a chemical engineer by training (from Karlsruhe University, Germany, nowadays referred to as KIT) and worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research in Karlsruhe (1993-2000), in an energy consultancy, and as assistant as well as associate professor at Utrecht University in the Netherlands (2001-2013). His research deals with energy savings and emission reduction in industry, the built environment and with energy storage. His group performs environmental and economic assessments of technologies, processes, products and services as well as policies.
