Price-setting in the EU Electricity Markets

Abstract:

In February 2006 EASAC produced a study of price-setting in the EU electricity markets on behalf of the European Parliament.  The study compares the charateristics of the markets and their pricing-structures.  It then considers the effect that the European Emissions Trading Scheme and long term contracts would have on the electricity market.  The study was formally presented at an open hearing at the European Parliament in April 2006.
