EASAC Board

The Board is EASAC’s main governing board and supreme executive body. Its primary task is to set the overall direction for EASAC and ensure that resources are aligned with strategic objectives. The Board comprises the President and the Vice-Presidents. In support of the President and of EASAC, the Vice-Presidents take over different portfolios of responsibility (outlined below in brackets). EASAC strives for diversity in geographical and disciplinary background, as well as in age and gender in the Board's composition.

EASAC’s Board is responsible for developing and implementing EASAC's strategy, and is accountable to the Council, carrying out its decisions. It's responsible for appointing Programme Directors after consulting with the relevant Steering Panel Chair(s), and actively participates in EASAC's outreach and science advice activities throughout Europe. The Board also approves projects for EASAC commentaries. The Board meets at least twice a year and liaises with the EASAC Programme Directors and EASAC Steering Panel Co-chairs.
