Predatory Academic Journals and Conferences: a European perspective

Joint IAP-EASAC webinar designed to help researchers learn more about predatory academic practices and minimise their risk of using them.

EASAC members, European researchers and other interested parties are invited to participate in a free, online webinar, “Predatory Academic Practices: Regional Perspectives and Learning” organised by the InterAcademy Partnership and the European Academies’ Science Advisory Council (EASAC), on Friday 19 November 2021, 10:00 to 12:00 CET. The webinar is designed to help researchers learn more about predatory academic practices and minimise their risk of using them.

The webinar will bring together IAP Working Group members, who are leading IAP’s study on these practices and other scientists in the region to discuss learning from the study and hear European perspectives on predatory journals and conferences.  You are encouraged to register for the webinar as soon as possible via this link, and share this information with your own academy membership and wider networks. Registration numbers are not limited and there is presently no deadline for registration: we are keen to be as inclusive as possible. Additional details can be found in the attached flyer.

Please note that registration is free and required for attendance. All researchers, as well as those in other related sectors (such as research funders and publishers, and libraries and indexing services) are encouraged to participate.  We anticipate there will be opportunities to submit questions to the speakers and panellists during the event.
