The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announces Spring 2016 events

 

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has announced two major events which will take place in Spring this year.

One is a conference on the role of metals and biocides in the selection of antibiotic resistant bacteria which will take place on 15-16 March 2016. The aim of this symposium is to gather some of the most active European scientists in the field to discuss mechanisms and evidence around the theme of the conference, both from an evolutionary, environmental and clinical point of view. The other is a symposium on gut microbiota in health and disease and will take place on 17 March 2016. This symposium aims to present the latest scientific evidence regarding the impact of the gut microbiota on host energy metabolism, inflammation and disease mechanisms, as well as how the diet can be used as a tool to prevent diseases through modulation of the microbiota composition.
