Tünde Fülöp

Tünde Fülöp (Sweden) is a full professor of physics at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, where she leads the Plasma Theory research group. Currently, her main interest is particle acceleration and radiation generation, in particular in magnetic fusion and laser-produced plasmas. She has authored over 140 journal articles and is associate editor for Journal of Plasma Physics.

In 2024 she was awarded the Hannes Alfvén prize from the European Physical Society Plasma Physics Division for "outstanding contributions to theoretical plasma physics, yielding groundbreaking results that significantly impact the understanding and optimization of magnetically confined fusion plasmas".

She was one of the founding members of the Swedish Young Academy (2011-2016) and since 2019 she is member of the physics class of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (KVA). She is also a foreign member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
