“Energy System Integration” Commentary launched

With debates in Europe intensifying over how to mitigate the impact of soaring energy prices, affordability, security and investment priorities, EASAC’s new Commentary provides a timely roadmap for action.

As Europe grapples with the dual challenge of an industrial crisis and the fallout from rising geopolitical tensions worldwide, including the war in Iran, the need for robust energy policies has never been more urgent. The new EASAC Commentary on Energy System Integration, launched on 16 April 2026, offers evidence-based insights into how integrating electricity, heat, and green gases across industry, buildings and transport (with onsite production, storage and digitalisation) helps reduce dependencies, keep energy prices in check, and bolster industrial competitiveness.
