EASAC stands in unwavering solidarity with the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ukrainian scientific community during this challenging time. We firmly oppose any act of violence or aggression that undermines academic freedom, research integrity, and the safety of scholars, just as we condemn any act of violence or agression against civilians and civil institutions. Science thrives on collaboration, peace, security, and the open and respectful exchange of ideas – conditions which must be protected and upheld.

Our thoughts are with our colleagues from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and their families. We acknowledge their determination to continue their vital work under such difficult circumstances, and we reaffirm our commitment to supporting their resilience and ensuring the continuity of their contributions to science in the face of adversity.
